“If we want to feel better at work, we need to work better at feeling.”
Hi, I'm Nathan.
I’m a curious communicator born in the north-western suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. From early days in broadcast to advanced research in psychology, my work now centres on helping leaders create the conditions for psychological safety and emotional wisdom.

MY STORY
Before stepping into my work as a keynote speaker and experimental psychologist, I began my career in community radio. A chance encounter with a major client took my voice national, and I was soon represented by Australia’s largest voiceover agency. Before long, I was heard by millions of people each day as the promo voice of MTV, Nickelodeon, and Network Ten.
So how did I find my way into the world of communication and emotion?
Growing up as a gay kid in the 1980s in a conservative Christian family (yep, the son of a preacher man!), it was often difficult to make sense of my feelings when I didn’t feel allowed to have them. I was also painfully shy, and often dreamed of a future where I could stand in my own authenticity, feel safe in myself, and genuinely connect with others.
That longing never really left me.
Throughout my life, one theme has continued to resurface: we all have an innate need to be seen, heard, and understood for exactly who we are. This is the heart of psychological safety, and it isn’t something we stumble upon by chance. It’s a capacity we develop through emotional intelligence. Or, even better – emotional wisdom.
That question of what allows people to feel safe enough to show up, speak up, and belong is what led me to complete three degrees in psychology. It remains the north star of my work with organisations today. By helping leaders reconnect with their inner compass, I support them to create the conditions where emotional wisdom can emerge, and where people can truly do the best work of their lives.
